Dear Parent / Guardian,
Some information and a few reminders: Our guest speaker Molawa Adesuyi is joining us next Tuesday 21st November from 4:30pm – this is a great opportunity for the children to talk to an environmental entrepreneur, an international polo player who now has his own team AND one of last years Forbes 30 under 30. Year five and six students who attend DAC are welcome to join the session (even if Tuesday is not their usual set day). Let the team know if you would like your child to attend.

Amnesty International: Write to Right Campaign

At DAC we want to teach the children that sometimes the smallest of actions can make a big positive impact in the lives of people who do not enjoy the same level of freedom as we do.

From 27th November to the 1st of December we will be supporting the Write for Rights campaign which sends cards and messages of support to people imprisoned unfairly all over the world. One of the people we will be writing to this year is Rita Karasartova from Kyrgystan, this is a brief outline of her story:

“Rita Karasartova: loves yoga, travelling and sewing traditional Kyrgyzstani jackets with her daughter. Now she is under house arrest, having spent months detained in a cramped cell unable to see or speak to her family. Worried about her people’s access to water, Rita peacefully opposed a border agreement giving control of a freshwater reservoir to Uzbekistan. She has been charged with attempting to “violently overthrow the government” and faces 15 years’ imprisonment”.

No I-Pads!
We view the homework period as an excellent opportunity to get some extra reading or homework done. Unfortunately, last week a few children at DAC were using the i-pads inappropriately, so due to issues with how i-pads are used, they are no longer allowed at after school club. The children should be leaving the I-pads in the Comms room at the end of the school day and should come into DAC with either a book to read or work from, or homework sheets. Failing this we can provide work for them do.

WE ARE RECRUITING!!!

DAC is on the look out for a new club assistant and club manager to join the team. If you know anyone who enjoys working with children and is looking specifically for part time work, please ask them to email their CV and a covering letter to: Edith@DreamworksAfterschoolClub.co.uk

Collection from DAC:
Please remember to call the club mobile if you have any problems at the school gate when you arrive to collect your child and we will let you in. The number to save in your phone is: 07596 849 761

Remember to follow the clubs Instagram page to keep up to date with with everything happen at DAC@DreamworksAfterschoolClub

Have a great rest of week.
DAC Team
