Happy New Year! We hope you and your families had an enjoyable festive break. Our sessions this week were of course lots of fun and it was lovely to welcome the children back to DAC.

We are definitely looking forward to a fun packed year, here is what is coming up this term:
Disney 100: As mega brand Disney continues to celebrate 100 years of stories, magic and memories, we decided that an after school club would not be complete without one, two or four Disney Princesses at least!
Wednesday Arts & Crafts
More of the children at DAC enjoy the opportunity to be creative through painting and drawing so for the rest of the school year we will be making greeting cards, working towards painting on canvas! Hopefully the children will come home with mini works of art by the end of the school year which I am sure you will proudly display in your homes ;0)
New @ DAC:
Behold! FC24 on Xbox has landed at DAC for our football mad attendees! The reaction when one of the boys opened the package and saw the game was PRICELESS. Let the games commence!

*Children from year three and above are allowed to play on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox.

Year 6 & Homework Periods
– We had a few issues last term with some of our older attendees who persist in wondering out of the hall without letting staff know where they are going. A great necessity to leave the hall once the homework period has begun is also becoming a problem, the oldest trick in the book being the disappearing to the toilet… for the majority of the homework period or taking the majority of the homework period to go and find their homework….

It has been explained to our year six children that their homework period will simply start from the time they return from their wandering. The homework period is for their benefit and is a great opportunity to catch up or stay on top of assigned work so please support us by reinforcing this message to the children at home.
*Reminder: Due to misuse, school I-pads are no longer permitted at DAC.

Busy, busy!
A waiting list will be put in place once we reach full capacity on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ad hoc attendance can not be accommodated on those two days and we kindly ask parents to refrain from swopping days.

New Year Resolutions!
We could not end this newsletter without offering to help you establish some New Years Resolutions ;0) The first one could be to make it to the end of this year in one piece! Or you could take some inspiration from here:

Another resolution could be to make an appointment to donate blood if you are healthy enough to do so. For more information about how you can help save lives and to register, visit: www.Blood.co.uk

Have a great weekend!
