HRH Gizmo II
Yes, Gizmo II – officially known as Gizmo the second – made his first appearance at DAC last week (admittedly he attempted to run away possibly in search of a better life…) none the less Gizmo will be a regular at DAC until the end of term, so let the maze challenge begin!

Rounders
On Wednesdays from 5:15pm the boys can play rounders in teams. The aim is to start adding more outdoor activity options for the boys to choose from.
Boys will need trainers to participate in any activity that takes place on the courts and are not permitted to return to classrooms once they have joined DAC!

Crazy Sand…and lots of it!
Kids seem to love it so we thought our younger attendees would enjoy moulding with this type of sand.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

Ask the boys what they want and they are extremely precise when making their requests! More Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are now at DAC for use during the homework/study period (when apparently there is no homework) and for use throughout the session.

Manners (or lack of…)

We want to encourage the boys to use the good manners we know they have… deep down…somewhere….SO we are introducing a reward system so we can acknowledge boys who are consistently polite or who make effort to use their manners. Edith now tells the boys, unless there is a please in the sentence, do not ask her for anything (as flat refusals often jogs the memory almost instantaneously!).

The Boring Stuff!
Toilets
Before the half term we had a problem with the amount and type of mess the boys were making in the toilets, which has now become unacceptable. We will now be supervising the boys when they go to the toilet to ensure toilets are not being misused and to remind the boys of best practices i.e. washing hands thoroughly, not wasting the paper towels, not emptying the soap down the drains! etc.

Departures policy
Children must be collected by parents, carers or an authorised adult. Children can not sign out boys from DAC.
The following has been taken from our Departures Policy:

Parents or carers MUST sign children out before they leave and write the time of collection.
Children must be collected by an adult who has been authorised to do so on their registration form OR by an adult for whom details of as well as a photograph have been sent to the DAC team.
If the parent requires another person who is not listed on the registration form to collect their child, the child’s parents or carers must inform the Club in advance and provide a description of the person and a password that they will use if a photo has not been sent to the team. If the manager has any concerns regarding the person collecting he/she will contact the main parent or carer for confirmation.
Children cannot be escorted to the gate unless there are exceptional circumstances. Children are not permitted to walk to the main gate without an adult.
Please could you ensure that the person collecting your son/s from DAC is over 16 years old.

Outstanding Invoices
Please check that you are up to date with the payment of invoices. Reminders will be sent out between now and the end of term for all unpaid invoices on the system. Unless you have made an arrangement with Edith, after the 10^th of July outstanding invoices will be passed to Definitive Collections Ltd who will be responsible for sending further reminders and collecting payments (their policies will be made available to anyone who is referred). From Monday 17th June anyone who has arrears on their account will not be able to send their son to DAC until this has been settled.
