The Final Term: Summer 2024

The Final Term: Summer 2024
Dear Parents / Guardians,
We hope you had an enjoyable bank holiday weekend. We are racing through the summer term and the longer daylight hours make our time outside even more enjoyable. It is lovely seeing the nursery children run around – they seem to be excited just to be on the courts which is really sweet.

For those of you who did not attend the last session before the Easter break we celebrated with a treat to end the last DAC session on a sweet note. Disclaimer: Easter seems so far away now so any weight gained from Easter egg consumption should have been lost by now! We have lots of healthy snack options each session so if you would like us to add more fruit to your child’s plate, please let us know.

New @ DAC

We are looking forward to more sensory play with a new range of Play-Doh! We want to create more opportunities for learning, growth and development, here are the main reasons why Play- Doh helps child development;
–  Play-Doh provides a sensory experience which helps provide motor skills and it also improves imagination!
– Play-Doh is also a good activity for exercising and mobilising muscles, joints and bones.

Our Barbies and Kens presumably have been using public transport and ubers since their arrival at DAC – now they have convertibles and scooters so they can give each other lifts to and from the Barbie Cafe, Barbies Fashion office and all around the hall. I think the dolls are about to have an amazing summer!

Introducing Marianna.

We would like to officially welcome Marianna to DAC as the newest assistant to join the team. She has formed a really nice bond with our early years children and they are so comfortable interacting with Marianna, we are pleased to have her with us. Of the role she says:  “My main priority is ensuring that children are enjoying themselves as well as building trust and a good relationship with them.”
For more information about Marianna and other team members visit the Meet The Team page on the club website.
Count down reminders:
Our last session before half term is Friday 24th May. Half term is Monday 27th – Friday 31st of May. DAC will resume on Monday 3rd of June

Last DAC session before the summer holidays will be on
Wednesday 10th of July 2024.

The DAC website has a live countdown on the homepage for those of us to like to countdown to the very day, hour, minute and second until the next break. Enjoy ;0)
Food Wastage:
It is important to let us know if your child is not attending a session at DAC. Prior to COVID any unopened, unexpired food items were taken to food banks or donation points in supermarkets. At times we open items to make food for children who do not attend, which then can not be donated.

If your child is not attending a session could you please let us know by 2pm at the latest on the day he or she is supposed to attend.
If ever you have food to donate from home and you are based near Keble, the nearest food bank is located at; Saint Monica’s Catholic Church, 521 Green Lanes London N13 4DH.
Security
If someone who is not known to the club staff is collecting on your behalf, please remember to send a picture of the person to the club mobile by 2pm.

Club Contact
If you have any queries please call or message the DAC mobile phone. You can also call the club phone if you experience any issues with access at collection. We recommend that you add the DAC mobile to your contacts: 07596 849 761

Booking Extra Sessions

Please ensure school staff are aware when your child is due to attend DAC. We have had a few instances where children are left at the office to be collected instead of being brought to DAC. There is no space for ad hocs on Tuesdays.
Have a great rest of the term,
Best wishes,
DAC
