Dear Parent/Guardian, we hope you have had a good start to the week, it’s impossible to miss the Christmas lights in town centres, the decorations in shop windows (and of course the extensive online marketing we usually see around this time of year!), all of which reminds us we are now rapidly approaching the end of term (hooray!!!), the festive season and the end of 2024. To ensure the journey to the finish line is as smooth as possible, please take note of the following:
STAFF UPDATE:
New: Club Assistant
Some of you may have seen Sofia at most sessions before the half term break and I am pleased to confirm she is the newest member of the DAC team. Sofia is passionate about childcare and has a gentle, caring and nurturing demeanour. Her focus will be on our Early Years attendees (nursery and reception) so please feel free to ask Sofia about your child’s time at the session when collecting and she will be more than happy to give you an update.

New: Sports Coach
We are very excited to announce we have a sports coach who will be with us on Tuesdays for the rest of the academic year. Micah is especially passionate about football coaching and has completed an Introduction to Coaching Football course run by the FA. As well as football coaching he will be organising activities and games so that everyone can take part. His sessions will start as soon as the children arrive at DAC and will usually take place on the school courts weather permitting. The children will have snack as usual at 4pm and can resume sporting activities afterwards OR do homework from 4:30pm, if you would like your child to do homework on Tuesdays from 4:30pm – 5pm, please let us know and they will be able to continue the sports session from 5pm or when they have completed their assigned work (whichever comes first).

Unfortunately, Marianna has been unwell for the last few months but hopes to re-join DAC in the new year, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for her return and wish her a speedy recovery.

Time to wrap up!
Please ensure your child has at the very least a warm hat and gloves to wear along with a warm coat in case they wish to play outside during the session. The temperature drops significantly as the session progresses so by the time we go outside at 5pm on most days it is quite nippy.

Ad hocs
In order to maintain adequate staff to child ratios and ensure our early years attendees are fully supervised throughout the session we are no longer accepting ad hocs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We can accommodate ad hoc attendees on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays but it is essential that prior notice is given to the team.We can not accommodate the swopping of days!
