Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope that you have had an enjoyable summer holiday and that your families have kept safe. Thank you to everyone who confirmed that they would like to use DAC services when school resumes. Based on the number of responses we have had and because of the ongoing concern surrounding the spreading of COVID-19, we have had to adjust the way in which we will offer after school care so in order to meet Ofsted regulations, adhere to government guidelines and of course still offer a fun and safe environment for the boys while they are with us, the following changes will apply from the 7th of September:
- DAC will accept a maximum of 12 boys for each session to maintain appropriate staff to child ratios.
- There will be one flat rate of £15 per session from 3:15pm – 6pm. Invoices will be sent at the start of each term and payment will be required in full. To allow for planning, this term only we will accept a payment for the first half of the term and the second payment can be made by Monday 2nd November.
- A terms notice is required to cancel sessions or amend days.
- Boys can no longer attend on an adhoc basis.
- We will be using a non contact thermometer to check the temperature of each child upon arrival. The parent or emergency contact of any child who exhibits symptons of COVID 19 will be contacted immediately so that collection can be arranged as the child will not be able to attend the session. The school will advise us of which rooms we can use for self isolation.
- There will be two bubbles; reception to year two and year two to year six. We will be using room dividers to separate the two groups.
- If we have a confirmed case of the virus, everyone in the bubble would need to self isolate for 14 days.
- All boys will need to sanitise their hands upon entering the hall (this is in addition to hand washing once they have returned from using the toilets).
- Snack will still be provided however not in the buffet format. The boys will need to choose what they wish to eat from the snack menu in advance and this will be set out each session. “Seconds” will no longer be available. Water will be available upon request throughout the session.
- Purell Advanced Hygenic Hand Rub will be placed at each activity for the boys to use before they start playing. All games and activities will be sanitised after each use.
- Parents and visitors are not permitted on site so collection will be from the main gate. We would ask that where possible you try and give advance notice of the time you intend to collect your son so that we can ask them to start getting ready to leave (this will save you waiting too long at the gate). Parents will need to sign their child out at the gate (hand sanitiser will be available).
- We will not be able to deal with general questions or queries at the gate.

This is new territory for all of us so if you have any queries please email: TheTeam@DreamworksAfterschoolClub.co.uk or message or call the DAC mobile: 07596849761. Updated policies will be sent out week commencing 7th of September.
If you have not done so already please confirm the number of sessions per week / days you would like your son/s to attend DAC and we will confirm if there is availability.
Kind regards,
Edith Victoria Kpodo STL3, BA Hons, MA
